Though the domain of console gaming has never fully gone into the strategy genre, compared to the other videogame genre Paradox are adamant about bringing their newest game to a wider audience.
Crusader Kings III is a grand strategy game, which is a specialty of the developers at Paradox Entertainment. While their games have flourished for years among the PC gaming communities, now they have set their sights to porting the game to consoles as well.
Crusader Kings III console launch will be on March 19, 2022. As the developers say, though, this will not be a simple port to Xbox X, Xbox S, and Playstation 5. While some features, developers say, were easily adapted for the console setup while others needed to be completely reimagined from the ground up.
It's no wonder though, that this was the case. Strategy games, in general, are far different from what is usually played on consoles and are made with PC gaming in mind.
Grand strategy games are even more complex in this regard, with the amount of information and options being displayed on the User Interface. We've been witnesses to various strategy games over the years being simplified when porting over to consoles from the PC, and hopefully, this will not be the case for Crusader Kings III.
Luckily, grand strategy games are based on diplomatic choices, and lists of options in general. So we can see them successfully being ported to the consoles themselves in this regard, unlike RTS games which rely on the precision of a mouse to bring out the best tactics gameplay possible.
