Stockolm-based publisher Paradox Interactive have today announced a major sales milestone for their medieval grand strategy Crusader Kings 3, which launched in 2020 on PC and two years later on consoles.
Crusader Kings 3 sold four million copies on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The game reached the milestone earlier this year, according to Paradox.
"Seeing Crusader Kings III succeed in both the computer and console spaces is such a treat for us!" said Crusader Kings game director Alexander Oltner. "Millions of people are engaging with history and writing their own dramatic tales of success and failure, which is a major goal of ours. CK3 turns five this year, and we're happy to know that there are millions more stories waiting to be told."
The total number of players who played Crusader Kings 3 is higher thanks to release on subscrition service Xbox Game Pass, where the game is still avalialble to play if you have an active sub.
Released in the fall of 2020, Crusader Kings III has captivated audiences around the world with its mixture of character focused stories and deep strategic planning in a carefully researched medieval world that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to India, and from the Arctic Circle to south of the Sahara. Tens of thousands of different personalities march through unique player written histories, histories with heroes and heroines, rogues and villains, warriors and saints.
Crusader Kings 3 will soon add more content on PC, with the ongoing Chapter 4 content updates, which should attract even more players. In all honestly, Crusader Kings 3 certainly deserves it since it's an excellent strategy game both for beginners but also hardcore fans.
