Our favourite metalheads have spilled more beans on the return of Serious Sam in the franchise's new installment called Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass, including screenshots and more details on the highly anticipated old-school shooter.
We've learned of Serious Sam's return to the gaming fray back on Reboot 2018, when Croteam officially broke the news to the world. Along the way, we've learned that Sam's devs are total metalheads too, which is just the way yours truly likes it. Not like anyone would suggest classical music for Serious Sam.
Anyway, the screenshots tease more of what to expect from Sam's return, including the new-and-improved enemies from his earlier adventures. Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass promises more of the same, in an updated visual package.
Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass takes Sam to a larger world than in any of its predecessors, albeit Croteam are insisting it's "NOT an open-world game". Sam will stick to the good old linear shooter formula we're used to from the franchise, and we can't say we don't like it.
This time around, Sam will be driving around Planet Badass on a bike, "combine or even a bulletproof popemobile". He'll be joined by Rodriguez, Jones, Hellfire and others on his quest to rid the planet of the endless and relentless hordes that have taken our babes. Oops, wrong game, but you know what I'm talking about though.
Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass will be published by Devolver Digital and Croteam had already announced the game's full reveal on Devolver's E3 appearance this year. We just can't stop chuckling at the "gameplay on a brutally bigger scale, and not a single desert level", because it sounds like the Sam we know and love.
Ultimately, it won't take long until we've had a taste of Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass properly, most likely on Devolver Digital's E3 press conference on Monday. And for the love of god, will someone explain to me why the Kamikaze bomb dudes continue to be so hilariously funny?
