Bungie announced transmog system coming to Beyond Light a few months ago and the big man himself has finally given us the answer to the most asked question.

Luke Smith held an AMA with Okaydrian and Friskk for Twitch Gaming and talked about something we have all been waiting to hear - whether we would have to keep armour pieces before the transmog system kicks in so we can have it as eligible ornaments.

Smith officially confirmed that we will not have to bloat our vaults any longer to keep our favourite pieces eligible for transmog. You can delete those useless but great looking armours and when transmog comes around, you will be able to make useful but not-so-good-looking armour take the form of whatever you like.

So there you go - free up your vault, get richer with more legendary shards and possibly masterwork materials. Considering we're getting a whole new set of weapons to farm up in Beyond Light due to the old ones sunsetting, we will definitely need that vault space and now you can prepare all the space you need.

One thing Smith didn't elaborate on is whether we would be able to pull these out of the collections or if there would be another type of system in place that we would use to transform the armour looks.

Then again, does it really matter? We get vault space and still get to look good in Beyond Light. Save up on Bright Dust, we have a feeling it will be used in the transmog process.
