The creators of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare series, Infinity Ward, are officially expanding with a brand new studio set in Austin, Texas.
Brace yourselves, even more Call of Duty games are coming. Infinity Ward, the creators of probably the most popular Call of Duty series - Modern Warfare - are now staffing for their brand new studio. The developer announced that they are opening a new studio set in Austin, Texas, which will join their teams in Los Angeles, Poland and Mexico.
The specifics have not been revealed. Infinity Ward only said they are now hiring for all positions for their new studio and will share more information soon.
We assume that this new studio will also work on the Call of Duty franchise since pretty much every Activision studio helped in some shape or form during the development of the upcoming Call of Duty Vanguard.
Rumours suggested that Call of Duty 2022 could be a sequel for Modern Warfare 2019, so it's safe to say that this will probably be Infinity Ward Austin's first project.
Infinity Ward developed some of the greatest Call of Duty games ever like the original Modern Warfare and its sequel but sadly, they were also the lead developers of some of the arguably worst ones including Call of Duty: Ghosts and Infinite Warfare.
We're hopeful that the rumoured Modern Warfare 2019 sequel will be among their finest work yet. Fingers crossed.
