Caliber adds more covers and flanking routes to Palm Road

Palm Road is one of the more problematic maps in Caliber and it seems the devs are trying to fix it by adding more options to close the gap between the bases.

Snipers are usually not much of a problem in Caliber and some of the best in class are operators with semi or fully-automatic rifles rather than the ones with limitless range.

The few maps where bolt actions may be better, like Palm Road, suffer from the lack of cover for other reasons though. Bolt-actions are balanced out by bullet velocity but automatic weapons with medium to long range still pose a massive threat and make crossing between covers nigh impossible.

With the latest batch of changes to Palm Road, 1C Game Studios is seeking to mend some of these issues.

The long route with the bridge has been altered the most, with the bridge now having an additional two flights of stairs, one from each side. It will provide cover and alternate ways to get to the overpass that gives you a height advantage.

Additionally, there is a new door and a window in the buildings on the same side, allowing a small niche where an operator can set up shop and potentially flank anyone on the aforementioned overpass.

The other big lane, in the middle of the map, received a small but indestructible cover while the alleyway next to it replaced the previous destructible roadblock covers with an indestructible but smaller cart with cement bags.

This seems to be the theme of the update as multiple other destructible covers were either replaced or reinforced by indestructible ones.
