Shotguns are always problematic when it comes to balance in shooter games since they usually end up unusable or overpowered with no chance of compromise.
Caliber is suffering from the same issue and two prominent shotgun-wielders, Avant-Garde and Acai, required their own hotfix to tune them further after a largely well-received balance patch.
Namely, Avant-Garde was overbuffed, and it seems like the devs believe Acai was overnerfed.
As such, Avant-Garde's rate of fire will be rolled back slightly, from four rounds per second down to 3.75.
Additionally, the long barrel upgrade has had its stability bonus halved while it now slows the operator down by 0.5 meters per second. The mobility nerf is huge and now poses a proper tradeoff question of whether you want that extra range at the cost of being much slower.
Considering he is an Assault that needs to flank enemies, it is quite possible people will go back to playing him without long barrel and possibly add Komar's passive skill to get his rate of fire to 3.95 RPS.
Meanwhile, Acai's healing was slightly buffed, with each Ampoule Launcher shot healing six instead of five health per hit. Some players may not be happy with him bein more powerful but with the reduced range and survivability from the balance patch he does seem to be in a balance spot currently.
