KillaVolt has been terrorising Borderlands 3 players in conjunction with Mad Moxxi due to specific requests and busted game mechanics. Those mechanics have now been fixed and players won't be forced to take damage after Shield Storm.
Borderlands 3 has had several controversies attached to it and fans didn't particularly like the writing quality but one thing everyone agreed upon is that the gameplay is top-notch. That department found itself in some trouble due to a certain electrified boss that kept being an annoyance for the players as there were sections where damage was literally unavoidable.
The boss is obviously KillaVolt and aside from irritating everyone with the shield he uses since it stands in the way of his jewels that Mad Moxxi put a hit on, he also irritated people further by using Shield Storm in the later stages of the fight.
Upon using this move, KillaVolt was supposed to disable electrified floor tiles around him, which would then provide players with safe spots to stand on, instead of trying to reenact giving life to Frankenstein's monster.
The fight was bugged, however, and when KillaVolt used Shield Storm, literally all the tiles on the battlefield would remain electrified, forcing players to either take continuous damage or jump like cocaine-powered bunnies, so the damage becomes slightly less continuous. This has been fixed with the latest update , and Gearbox admitted their oversight with a bracketed "oops" in the patch notes.
Granted, the boss was not unbeatable to begin with but the experience should now prove to be much more on the enjoyable side of things rather than an electrified migraine inducer. There are many other improvements on the update page so it's probably a good idea to give the wall of text a good read before taking on the Calypso twins again.
