FromSoftware adds a new level of punishment to Elden Ring: Nightreign with the arrival of Everdark Sovereign bosses. These limited-time, ultra-challenging boss variants promise new attacks, tougher fights, and exclusive rewards for those brave (or stubborn) enough to face them.

Just when you thought Elden Ring: Nightreign couldn’t get any more punishing, FromSoftware has rolled out a new twist: Everdark Sovereigns - ultra-powerful variants of existing Nightlord bosses designed to really test your build...and your patience.

Kicking off on June 19, these limited-time boss encounters are online-exclusive and bring back familiar foes like Gaping Jaw, Sentient Pest, and Darkdrift Knight - only this time, they’ve gone full nightmare mode. These revamped versions feature new move sets, increased damage, and yes, they hit harder than than the realisation you forgot to spend your 200k runes before dying.

What Are Everdark Sovereigns?

Everdark Sovereigns are enhanced versions of existing Nightlords, and they’ll be appearing in Limveld weekly. The first to arrive is an upgraded version of Adel, Baron of the Night (Gaping Jaw) – available from June 19 at 10:00 JST / 3:00 CEST / 6:00 PM PDT until June 26.

To face these terrifying variants, you’ll need to have already defeated their base form. Miss your chance? They vanish when the timer runs out - but FromSoft hints that they may not be gone forever.

More Everdark Sovereigns - including Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog - will be added in the coming weeks, so don’t think you’re getting off easy after one fight.

Rewards Worth Dying For

Defeating an Everdark Sovereign won’t just net you bragging rights. Players who succeed will earn Sovereign Sigils, which can be traded for special Relics and unique items. If you manage to take one down for the first time, you’ll receive bonus Sigils.

A Reminder for Solo Players

These fights are online-only, even for single-player mode. So if you're planning on taking one of these monsters down solo, make sure you're logged into the server. Offline mode won’t cut it.
