It seems that the effects of layoffs at Blizzard are still being felt, especially in the esports division, which is said to have taken the worst hit. Now, Blizzard's global product director Kim Phan is leaving, and she's not alone.

Phan's lengthy stay in Blizzard is coming to an end after 13 years in the company, but apparently, she's not the only member of the esports department that's saying her goodbyes.

Sources close to the situation have told Dexerto that people are "tired of working for Pete Vlastelica", president of Activision Blizzard esports, and morale among employees is said to be incredibly low.

Apparently, Blizzard's focus has been on commercialising esports titles, rather than making programs for the gaming community, and most of the blame is internally being pinned on Vlastelica.

Another source said, "Right now, there's a feeling that a lot of the senior management just don't understand esports, but there is no room for negotiating with these people. They are convinced their vision, which is more in line with televised sports, is the right way to go and it has just made people miserable."

Although Phan is the most prominent name on the list of people leaving Blizzard's esports department, she's hardly the only one leaving, but Dexerto omitted the names for now.

Ironically enough, this puts Blizzard president J. Allen Brack's recent interview , as he expertly sidestepped the questions about esports.

His sidestep, however, seems to be in line with Dexerto's report. Brack was asked about the cuts in the esports department, but he Dragoon-blinked the question and reiterate company's support to Overwatch League.

The entire issue can, of course, be traced to Activision Blizzard's layoffs, and even though the obvious suspect is the round where they got rid of of their workforce, the exodus of Blizzard's key people is going on even longer.
