EA's next Battlefield game could be a reboot set in the modern-day according to the latest tease from a reliable leaker. The modern-day setting has been rumoured for Battlefield 6 for quite some time now and it looks like these rumour may be true after all.
Fans of Battlefield series have been craving for a return to a modern-day setting for years now but as you may know, Dice and EA opted for WW1 and WW2 instead. However, it looks like the upcoming Battlefield game could be the answer to the players' wishes.
The modern-day setting is certainly a realistic scenario since 2013's Battlefied is the last game in the series to take this approach and on top of this, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's success is potentially another reason why EA and Dice probably need a return to modern conflicts.
The setting has also been teased by popular YouTuber Jackfrags and recently a trusted leaker Tom Henderson over on Twitter. Tom quoted a tweet from a user named Usman who stated how Battlefield 3 makes him feel nostalgic and was ahead of its time.
"You'll be a happy bunny next year then," the leaker added a small hint in the quoted tweet.
Of course, this is just a tiny tease suggesting a modern-day setting but he further clarified his tweet for those who thought the game might be Battlefield 3 remaster.
As always, you should take this with a grain of salt just like any other rumour or unconfirmed info. However, Henderson has been pretty reliable in the past with his Modern Warfare and Battlefield info. Fingers crossed that he is indeed right this time around.
