Season 1 of Battlefield 6 has introduced new content but has faced balance issues, including an XP farming glitch in the Strikepoint mode

DICE has temporarily reduced XP gains in Battlefield 6’s Strikepoint mode after an exploit led to unnaturally fast progression. A permanent fix is in development.

Season 1 has given Battlefield 6 a lot of new content to play around with but it hasn’t been without some odd balance issues. One of the main features that Season 1 has brought is the Strikepoint mode but it soon became the main attraction of the season as players discovered a farming glitch that was netting them massive XP rewards.

Players started pouring into the mode to report gaining levels in a way that was well beyond what was to be expected. DICE had to step in and quickly put a temporary patch in place to secure the longevity of Battlefield 6’s progression.

XP values have since been confirmed to have been intentionally nerfed in Strikepoint with more permanent fixes to be on the way in an update.

Why Were XP Rewards Reduced?

DICE found an XP farming exploit in Strikepoint. In theory, players could level up disproportionately fast compared to other multiplayer game modes. The developer did not share the exact details, but many players openly shared several of the triggering conditions.

One of the most reported methods is related to the halftime swap in Strikepoint. If all players of a team leave the match within a certain time window, the remaining team would be granted significantly increased bonus XP. The unintended bonuses made the mode flooded with players who were only playing to level up fast.

What Has Changed for Now?

To even the playing field in the meantime, DICE has implemented the following temporary measures:

  • Reduced XP from some high value actions in Strikepoint
  • Changes to the score logic where the exploit was most commonly used
  • Checks for abnormal XP surges on accounts

DICE noted that these are not balance changes and were implemented only to stop any further abuse of the exploit. Once the permanent fix is in place, XP pacing should be more rewarding and predictable.

What Should Players Expect Next?

If you’re planning to get into Strikepoint in the next few days, be advised that XP gains will feel less than normal. According to the studio, this is intentional to ensure progression stays fair for the entire Battlefield 6 playerbase.

More updates will be shared as soon as they’re available, with a full rollback of these temporary measures included when the exploit is fully resolved. In the meantime, fair progression is the aim and Strikepoint will return to normal once the next patch is ready to drop.
