A brand new Battlefield 2042 update goes live across all platforms on September 27. It includes a new vehicle, Renewal map rework and much more.
EA and DICE have confirmed that a brand new update for their shooter Battlefield 2042 is coming tomorrow - September 27.
Update 2.1 brings a couple of big additions like a new buggy vehicle but players will certainly be most excited about the changes to the Renewal map, which should now offer more cover and a better large-scale combat experience overall.
Below, you'll find a short breakdown of the biggest changes and new additions to Battlefield 2042.
Here are some of the highlights of Battlefield 2042's Update 2.1
- New Vehicle: Polaris RZR: Originally teased during the Season 2: Master of Arms unveil, this lightweight buggy allows players and a teammate to zoom through the battlefield at high speeds.
- Vault Weapon Additions: Iconic weapons from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 have made their way into Battlefield 2042. Battlefield 3’s compact P90 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s GOL Sniper Magnum and M1911 are now unlockable via the new Assignment system.
- Renewal Rework: Stemming from player feedback, the dev team has significantly reworked the Renewal map, with an emphasis on improving the close-quarters combat experience. The improvements strive to reduce traversal time between flags and objectives through modifications of multiple sections of the map.
- Various Improvements and Fixes: Multiple improvements across the game have been implemented with Update 2.1, including:
- Fixes to reduce instances of mouse input latency
- Balance tuning for Attack and Transport Helicopters, as well as the Nightbird
- Irish’s APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel has been improved to ensure it blocks M320 LVG and M26 Mass Frag attachment grenades
- An issue where AM40 and Avancys bullets were identified as SMG bullets has been fixed
Update 2.1 for Season 2: Master of Arms releases on Tuesday, September 27 at 08:00 UTC.
