Battlefield 4 Designer and Battlefield 1 Producer David Sirland has returned to DICE to work on the Battlefield franchise as a Lead Producer.

EA are building quite the team for the future of the Battlefield series. After Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto joined the Battlefield team as a Narrative Game Director earlier this year, former DICE producer David Sirland has returned to the studio to work on Battlefield as Lead Producer.

Sirland left DICE in March 2020 to work on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt. Now, he announced that he is back and super eager to make the future of Battlefield brighter and better than ever.

"Rest assured I am going to listen to your feedback, your woes, your ideas and champion a game that you would love to play," Sirland tweeted to Battlefield fans.

Interestingly, Sirland also tweeted that things are very different at DICE this time around and he meant it in a good way, suggesting that the situation at DICE wasn't that great a couple of years ago.

David Sirland worked on several Battlefield games including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 4 and its DLCs, Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V. Fans of the series seem to be quite happy that he is back to work on their beloved franchise, welcoming him back on Twitter and Battlefield subreddit.

After the lacklustre Battlefield 2042 , EA have promised they are still "all-in on Battlefield", announcing that a new studio named Ridgeline Games will be building the campaign while Respawn's Vince Zampella becomes the new overall boss of the Battlefield franchise.

It will take a while before we see how this shake-up influences the next Battlefield game, but it's safe to say that the future looks less grim for the series now.
