Stasis freezing has been ruining PvP in Destiny 2 for quite a while until the stop was finally put to it and now it might be back with the new trace rifle.
Trace rifles are not particularly hard to handle in Destiny 2 . One would say they have laser precision. Therefore, when such a weapon gets the ability to freeze opponents, you can bet there will be some voice of discomfort in the game's future.
Ager's Scepter has gone live and players can get it through the associated quest which is bound to become another herald of doom for the PvP sandbox.
Namely, the weapon is not that scary on its own. It is powered by Stasis but only slows enemies by explosions from kills with it. When the catalyst comes in, however, it becomes much more powerful. The Scepter's ray will then be able to slow and eventually freeze enemies on its own. Considering it's also doing damage, you are pretty much done for as soon as the ray starts hitting you.
The slow will undoubtedly make the wielder's aiming easier and the freeze will probably not kick in until the target is almost dead in PvP, unless they are in a roaming Super, in which case the freeze will become invaluable and possibly overpowered.
