Paradox Interactive have announced the official release date for Age of Wonders: Planetfall. The turn-based strategy is hitting shelves on 06 August 2019. Along with the announcement, the publisher also released a new story trailer.
After Microsoft Store accidentally revealed the release date and different editions for Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Paradox Interactive were quick to officially confirm that their turn-based strategy is hitting shelves on 06 August 2019.
The release date was announced in a new story trailer which shows various factions and a bit of gameplay at the very end. The trailer also reveals pre-order bonuses which includes a Paragon Noble cosmetic pack.
As always, we at Altchar strongly suggest that you wait for reviews before reaching for your wallet, but if pre-orders are your thing, you can reserve the game from today, on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall will also have three different editions. The Standard Edition will cost you $49.99, Deluxe Edition is $59.99 and it includes additional content such as Bravado Bundle and Spacepunk cosmetics, Infested World scenario planet, a digital artbook and original soundtrack.
The most expensive one is the Premium Edition which costs $89.99. It features everything from Deluxe Edition plus Season Pass, wallpapers and forum icons.
The season pass will cover three upcoming expansions and it also includes a platform-specific instant reward. It's safe to say that Paradox Interactive went all out to incentivise pre-orders. Hopefully, Triumph Studios put the same effort in the actual game.
In Age of Wonders: Planetfall players will get to "emerge from the dark age of a fallen galactic empire to craft a new future for their people". A new addition is the randomly generated map in the single-player story campaign while the game will also offer new play styles in skirmish mode.
Planetfall will feature six playable factions, ranging from military-like Vanguard to dinosaur-riding Amazons and the cyborg-zombies of the Assembly. All these factions were introduced in gameplay videos over the past months, and you can check them out on Paradox Interactive's YouTube .
