Overwatch - Summer Games are live

Overwatch's Summer Games are now live. The standard Loot Box has been replaced with a special Summer Games box, and LucioBall has a new map. Last year's items are available at a discount.

Overwatch Summer Games event starts next week

The Overwatch Summer Games event from 2016 will be making another appearance in 2017. This time around there is a new Lúcioball stadium, some changes and nerfs to that mode's mechanics, and you guessed it - skins and lootbox things, new and old.

With the console beta's now behind us, Bungie is preparing for the upcoming PC beta round of testing. Early access is reserved for everyone who pre-ordered the game. In this case, early means one day earlier than everyone else.

The Modern/Infinite Warfare hostage situation seems to have been finally resolved. The remastered version of one of the more reputable games from the Call of Duty series is now available in its standalone final form on Steam.

Back in May, Blizzard celebrated Overwatch's first anniversary with a new seasonal event, a free weekend and a digital GotY edition. Now, a physical Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition will hit the shelves on 28 July.

Unreleased level arrives as DLC for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

The previously unreleased Stormy Ascent level, cut from the first Crash Bandicoot, will be added to the N.Sane Trilogy remaster in the form of DLC. The additional level will be free up until 19 August 2017, and it will cost money after that.

Destiny 2 open beta dates

Bungie announced that the open beta early access will start on 18 July for PlayStation 4 players who pre-ordered the game. Xbox One folks will gain access on 19 July. PC version of the beta will be available in August.

Overwatch players can finally play as Doomfist, albeit in the PTR. People seem to like him. The patch that brought the latest Doomfist into Overwatch also packed the new highlights system and some changes to the game's lootboxes.

Blizzard published an in-universe blog post detailing the events that unfolded at Helix Security International's classified maximum security installation before the Numbani airport attack. The post was heavily geared towards Akande Ogundimu a.k.a. the next Doomfist.

Heroes of the Storm just got a new patch in the PTR. The patch notes are available now and the update itself will go live on 10 July.

StarCraft will be receiving its fresh coat of 4K paint 14 August 2017 and South Korea is overjoyed. Everyone else will have a good reason and opportunity to replay Blizzard's classic RTS for the modest sum of £12.99

Overwatch's latest update hits the PTR

Blizzard recently released a new patch into the wild that is PTR. The patch should decrease the number of duplicates and increase the amount of credits players receive. Also, you can now capture 12 second highlights in high resolution.

Diablo 3: Rise of the Necromancer DLC

Rise of the Necromancer DLC for Diablo 3 is rolling out next week. The DLC will bring an updated Necromancer character class from Diablo 2. The DLC will be accompanied by a free update which will add two new zones to the game.

Overwatch got a new map in the latest update

Horizon Lunar Colony is the latest map to arrive in Overwatch. The update that brought the new map also buffed McCree and Reaper as well as nerfed Roadhog. A free Golden Loot Box is on offer until 10 August.

A Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remaster could be releasing for PlayStation 4 during the coming week. Speculation that Activision is resolving the Infinity/Modern Warfare hostage situation today seems to have been unfounded. Alternatively, it might be a strange retail only kind of deal.

Blizzard is looking for extra hands willing to do some remastering work. A recent job posting by the company for a Senior Software Engineer hints at more remasters coming our way after the recent confirmation of a StarCraft remaster.

Good luck if you are trying to get into the Call of Duty: WW2 multiplayer beta. The recent E3 reveal of the game and beta announcement seem to have broken the part of the Call of Duty web-site necessary to redeem game codes.

Destiny 1 is put on life support as efforts flow into Destiny 2

Bungie is done with the first Destiny. While the game is not completely abandoned, and will still receive support and technical updates, no new content or major changes are to be expected. This is a direct result of the studio focusing all of its resources on Destiny 2.

Overwatch's competitive season 5 starts soon

Overwatch will kick off its fifth competitive season on 30 May at 01:00 AM BST. The game's anniversary event is set to close on 12 June. October will see the release of the Overwatch art books and the Overwatch Anthology: Volume 1.
