COD points for Call of Duty WWII have been delayed. The announcement didn't offer any explanation but server and connectivity issues are a strong contestant. The Headquarters stays a solo experience for the moment.

COD points are the in-game currency you purchase with real world money. The points were supposed to go live today, but the launch got pushed back. COD points for Call of Duty WWII will be available on Tuesday, 21 November.

If you are among those who bought the game digitally, that's also the date you'll be getting the 1,100 COD Points that were promised. COD Points will be used to buy Rare Supply Drops for both multiplayer and zombies.

The news came through the  . The short message did not offer a reason for the delay. Maybe  have something to do with, yeah, probably not.

The more probable culprit are the server and connectivity issues the game has been suffering through since it launched.

The developer team at Sledgehammer thought that they have worked out a solution to this predicament, but many players continue to report a lack of dedicated servers in matchmaking and other issues.

Yesterday, the team said the dedicated servers for the game are their top priority. Above water, food and shelter. Stay hydrated guys and girls. Dedicated servers are being tested since Sunday, 12 November.

The Headquarters will stay a solo experience for the moment, but you can still invite friends to your HQ in order to complete some of the daily orders that require multiple players. Just leave the door of your bedroom open. Thank you.

A new patch meant to deal with disconnects has put the PC patch for Call of Duty WW2 on hold, even though the PC version of the game is not without these problems. Maybe they'll try to kill two birds with one stone*.

Here’s the full list of fixes Sledgehammer is currently working on:

  • Online Connectivity - While our previous Game Update which released early Friday solved several critical needs, unfortunately it also had an adverse effect on server performance. As a result, we moved to P2P (listen) servers. Overall, the game is stable, however we know that P2P brings things like Host Migrations and other issues that make for inconsistent gameplay experiences. Our objective to return to dedicated servers is our highest priority.
  • Dedicated Servers - This weekend we rolled out various test solutions in limited markets in order to fully analyse real-world conditions without risking disruption. This level of data and diagnostics is helping us work toward a permanent solution as quickly as possible. We’ve begun to test dedicated servers today in the US. We’ll watch this test closely, and once we analyse the results we’ll look to expand.
  • Game Disconnects From Server - After much testing, our engineering teams identified the root cause of this issue, which can also result in lost stats and post match lobby freezes. Later tonight, we plan to deploy a patch across both consoles worldwide. We’ll monitor the results, and keep everyone updated.
