It's the first Monday in November, and you know what that means!
It means your life is fading away by the second and there's nothing you can do about it*. Except maybe fill the precious minutes you have left with the news of how some company made a killing by releasing a game you haven't yet purchased. That will, of course, soon change as the relentless marketing campaigns are working tirelessly to convince you that this game right here is the one for you.
Let's see how well the marketing worked in the week ending on 4 November. This will come as no surprise but Call of Duty WWII did very well in its first week out.
AltChar gives credit where credit is due and so our own SubReal gave the game a score of 9/10. Week one sales of the latest game in the COD franchise surpassed those of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare by 57 per cent (in units) and 21 percent (in revenue). Also, called it.
FIFA 18 rounds off the top three. Super Mario Odyssey was the biggest ever launch for a Switch title when it came out on 27 October. The game now occupies the number four spot on the chart, which is not that big of a fall as it debuted at number two (due to Assassin's Creed Origins being released in the same week).
Sony’s PS4 Gran Turismo Sport remains at number five. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is now at number six. Forza Motorsport 7 made its way back into the top 10 after being at number 12 last week. The racing game is now at number seven.
The top 10 this week looks like this:
1. Call of Duty WWII
2. Assassin's Creed Origins
3. FIFA 18
4. Super Mario Odyssey
5. Gran Turismo Sport
6. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
7. Forza Motorsport 7
8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
9. Forza Horizon 3
10. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
