Activision's delayed exclusivity deal with Sony will see to it that all save for PlayStation 4 players have to wait a few weeks longer for certain bits of Destiny 2 content.

Destiny 2's first expansion pack will be called Curse of Osiris. It will also be called an expansion rather than DLC, probably because it sounds better, but the publisher practice of shattering games to pieces for the sake of maximised profits remains intact no matter how you dress it up. The official reveal came yesterday during the Paris Game Show - trailer, release date, forced hype and all.

Curse of Osiris is the first of two expansion packs covered by Destiny 2's season pass, and is due to release 5 December 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

"Destiny 2 - Expansion I: Curse of Osiris, takes place after the conclusion of the Destiny 2 campaign where you are dispatched to Mercury on a quest to find Osiris, the most powerful Warlock to have ever lived, to discover the answers humanity needs to fight back against the Vex", is Bungie's blurb on the matter.

Sony and Activision are best buds for life, so PlayStation 4 players will get some of the expansion content sooner than others. Same as with the usual schenanigans we know and loathe from Call of Duty, Destiny 2 will once again be delivering its PlayStation 4 content delayed exclusive style. This means that anyone owning an Xbox One or a gaming machine for grown-ups will have to wait about a month before they get to play some exclusive PvP content.

The expansion will also raise the level cap from 20 to 25, allowing all Destiny 2 players to walk around with a 25 floating above their head instead of just a plain old 20.
