Overwatch League's opening week audience

Overwatch League has kicked off and north of 10 million people watched. The league's first season will have matches each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Playoffs and finals are scheduled for July.

Blizzard will celebrate Diablo III's 21st anniversary with a new Darkening of Tristram event. The event will bring unique transmogrification effects, achievements, portraits, pets, and more. Darkening of Tristram will start on 01 January.

In case your wallet managed to survive Curse of Osiris and The Dawning, worry not, Bungie and Activision have you covered. Destiny 2 will be getting a new DLC named Gods of Mars, come spring 2018.

Overwatch is giving away free loot boxes

Blizzard is giving each Overwatch player five loot boxes for logging into the game. The giveaway is a part of the Winter Wonderland event. The loot boxes will contain items relevant to the event.

Call of Duty: WWII The Resistance DLC

Activision will release Call of Duty: WWII's first DLC pack in January. The DLC will bring new maps, a new mode and a continuation of the Nazi Zombies saga. PlayStation 4 owners will be the first to give the DLC a go.

Destiny 2's traditional holiday event is now live across all platforms. The event brought back the Mayhem matches, new decorations and fresh items. The Dawning will also let you craft gifts for other players.

Overwatch players are toxic because Blizzard says so?

Overwatch's toxicity issue continues to become more and more serious. A banned player started a thread on the Battle.net forum and Overwatch Game Director responded. Jeff Kaplan's response completely missed the point and blamed the ban on the player's toxic chat behaviour instead of his poor play-style.

Call of Duty: WWII is 2017's Xmas number one. The franchise has now matched the number of Xmas number ones set by EA’s ‘FIFA’. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for Xbox One debuted at number four. Super Mario Odyssey claimed the title of the top-selling Switch Santa title.

Overwatch: Winter Wonderland 2017 patch

Winter Wonderland 2017 patch has introduced a new notification system to Overwatch. Players will now receive in-game notifications instead of e-mails. New character skins, highlight intros and emotes are available.

Destiny 2 endgame locked behind Curse of Osiris

Bungie's The Curse of Osiris DLC pre-loads will start on 05 December. The DLC will bring new weapons, new emotes and new armour. The storage requirements start at 44 GB for Xbox One.

Overwatch for PC, PlayStaion 4 and Xbox One received a new patch today. The new patch fixes Moira and matchmaking in Competitive play. Doomfist received several fixes in a patch that's now live in the PTR.

Following the public outcry caused by hidden XP scaling in Destiny 2 that caused players to earn less progress than the game let on, Bungie are now either reforming their ways or grasping at straws.

Destiny 2: free trial amid the XP controversy

Destiny 2's free trial kicks off on 28 November. During the Thanksgiving weekend a Reddit user posted some damning evidence of lowered XP gains in the game. Bungie has since deactivated this system.

Call of Duty WWII is still at the top of the UK sales chart. Star Wars Battlefront II's sales hurt by microtransactions. Forza Motorsport 7 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus back in the top 10.

Australia's Gambling Commission on loot boxes

War on microtransactions and loot boxes has reached Australia. A Reddit user contacted the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation about their stance on the issue, and a Strategic Analyst for the Compliance Division at VCGLR responded.
