It has been a few days since the release of Sumo Digital's newest hit and many players are wondering what the purpose of one NPC that gets awoken every game is. The Grandpa is a little side quest NPC that the family has to feed in order to get a greater advantage over the victims.
In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the player's objective is to safely escape the farm and the family members and with that the Leatherface's gruesome murder.
While there might be variations in gameplay based on the decisions players make, one thing is for sure when it comes to playing the family. Not feeding the grandpa specifically doesn't have a significant impact on the outcome of the game but feeding him does bring many advantages as he does help the killer family track down the victims and where they are hiding.
The more blood that is harvested and fed to Grandpa, the stronger his locating and tracking powers get. Family members will find blood bags scattered around the environments that can be used to collect blood.
The family can collect blood whenever they successfully attack a victim and if that victim is killed, a large amount of blood will automatically be collected.
Grandpa has multiple levels of his victim echolocation ability and the only way to upgrade it is to feed him enough blood to level up. With each additional level, the cooldown between his uses of this ability shortens.
Every time he levels up, it becomes harder and harder to evade him and with that, winning the game becomes considerably harder for the victims.
