The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has been released recently as the first and only competitor of Dead by Daylight and in order to be a strong contender, it needs to have certain things that differentiate its gameplay from the gameplay of Dead by Daylight.
In Dead by Daylight, players can bring 4 unique perks that fully determine what playstyle the survivor will follow. Aside from evading the killer, cleansing totems and repairing generators, there is not much for the survivors to do.
This is not the case in Sumo Digital's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, victims have to evade the killers, unlock doors and break locks, turn off the flow of electricity and locate and open pressure valves.
Aside from that the victims also have to allocate certain consumable items such as medicine, lock pick and finally bone scraps. But what are bone scraps?
Bonescraps work in a very similar way to the single-use pocket knives from Friday the 13th where harvesting a bone scrap would give you one "get out of jail for free" card when a killer attacks you or is about to kill you.
Additionally, bone scraps are best used to counter Grandpa and that is because attacking Grandpa with a bone scrap will cause him to lose a level that he had previously and with the lost level he also loses all of the bonus stats and abilities he had gained with the level.
