Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2—How to heal

Healing is usually a straightforward mechanic in video games, but not in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. To heal your wounds in this game, you must perform a set of different actions. Here is how to do it properly.

If you get injured in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the newest RPG from Warhorse Studios, you will have to heal your wounds, or this condition might cause you serious trouble, sometimes losing a great deal of your in-game progress.

However, the healing process in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn't as straightforward as drinking potions or applying bandages like you might have expected or like you can experience in some other RPG titles out there.

To heal in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll need to perform a set of different actions and fulfil certain conditions, and only then your health can be restored. If this mechanic is confusing to you, we've prepared a guide that will show you how to tend to your wounds properly.

How to heal in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

At the very beginning, the game will teach you what to do if you start to bleed and will give you the opportunity to apply bandages for the first time. However, bandages only stop bleeding and do not restore the health; for that, you're going to have to do a different set of actions.

If you're severely wounded, no potion will help you there; instead, you'll have to sleep it off to regain your strength. Also, you'll need to eat before sleeping because you cannot sleep hungry, and your full stomach will heal you over night. But if you think it will be that simple, think again. Sleeping isn't allowed wherever you want, but just inside safe places and the places where you're allowed to sleep due to your previous actions—those places are marked with the bed icon on your map.

Once you find yourself in one such place, you can finally crush, and your health will regenerate as you sleep. If you want to speed up the healing process while sleeping, you can drink the chamomile decoction potion, and your healing will be twice as fast.

The biggest issue with healing when you're severely injured is the inability to fast travel or even ride a horse in this state. If something like that happens, our advice is to sleep whenever you can, even if it isn't allowed. If you manage not to get noticed for at least a couple of hours, your health will regenerate just enough to regain the ability to fast travel. Once you're discovered, you'll get the option to pay the penalty for transgressing. This penalty is usually not so expensive and is the better option than dying and losing progress.
