Funcom has released a new update for Dune: Awakening, bringing a wide range of gameplay adjustments, bug fixes, and performance improvements. The patch addresses some long-standing issues while also tweaking PvP mechanics and tightening up several in-game exploits.
It's another smaller patch following the recent 1.1.0.0 patch versions that Funcom started to ddrop shortly after release. It's safe to say that the dev team are working hard to deliver these so hats off for such a commitmnet to their game (which is great btw).
PvP Respawn Times Adjusted
One of the most notable changes is the revision of respawn timers in PvP zones. The first respawn now takes 70 seconds, while any subsequent respawns will take 115 seconds. This adjustment aims to make death more meaningful in high-risk areas and give players more incentive to approach combat strategically.

Gameplay and Interface Tweaks
Several quality-of-life improvements have also been implemented. Players will no longer take damage from vehicles, resolving a frustrating issue during large-scale encounters. The Unstuck feature has been disabled for vehicles and on the Overland Map, and players won’t see the option if they're in a vehicle or outside a playable zone.
Service notifications, such as server restart alerts, now appear at the top-center of the screen instead of the upper right, improving visibility during gameplay. Additionally, players attempting to respawn across maps will now need to manually type “Respawn” into a confirmation popup as an added safeguard.
Another minor tweak: opening the Private Servers tab in the server browser now prompts a notification pop-up, keeping players more informed when switching server types.
Server and Client Stability
Funcom also continues to focus on improving both client and server stability, with backend changes aimed at reducing crashes and improving performance during gameplay and server transitions.
Bug and Exploit Fixes
This patch tackles several bugs and exploits, including:
- A freezing issue when crossing the Deep Desert server border.
- A bug preventing players from abandoning bases shared with friends.
- Visual misalignment of dart trails from the Maula Pistol.
- NPC respawn errors, such as the Atreides Leader reappearing too quickly.
- A bug causing Crysknifes to be placed in containers via item swapping.
- A loss of Solaris currency when using the in-game bank system.
- Faction storyline blockage when exiting dialogue too soon after completing a quest.
- Multiple exploits, including dealing base damage with a cutteray, extracting water from non-existent structures, and firing unintended salvos of projectiles.
- Additional fixes addressed notification overlap issues, research progress errors while in vehicles, and refining time reduction bonuses not triggering correctly under specific conditions.
