Ubisoft have rolled out two trailers for Watch Dogs: Legion, and while the first is the standard flashy trailer, the second one goes into gameplay details. It turns out that players will be building their teams by recruiting others.

We've already heard that you'll be able to play as anyone in Watch Dogs: Legion, but the exact mechanics and how this will affect the storytelling part was a bit unclear.

Thankfully, Ubisoft explained it in great detail, and your quest to organise resistance in London requires recruiting Watch Dogs: Legion's NPCs, who'll then cease being NPCs of course.

And the world of Watch Dogs: Legion packs plenty of useful NPCs, ranging from former MMA fighters, explosives experts and even sweet little grannies, who've apparently been killing people for a living in their past life.

Once you've recruited your Watch Dogs: Legion NPCs, you can assign them into three roles - Enforcers, Hackers and Infiltrators. In short, Enforcers are the fist brigade, Hackers are for hacking, duh, while Infiltrators are your stealth force.

The world of Watch Dogs: Legion is one that remembers your actions, and this works both ways - the good and the bad.

Speaking of the bad, the team wanted to make death a big deal in Watch Dogs: Legion, so the characters that die stay dead, which raises the stakes somewhat. If they're imprisoned, however, they'll just be unavailable for a while.

Ubisoft said they went to great lengths to ensure that the NPCs slot into the story seamlessly, and this includes cutscenes. The team have painstakingly ensured that no matter who you choose, it won't look out of sorts once cutscenes are playing.

This includes motion-capture movement and facial animations, voice lines, etc.

Ubisoft said that everything that's been happening with Brexit served as inspiration for the setting, helping them explore their "what if" scenario.

Watch Dogs: Legion launches on 06 March 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadia, where the PC version will launch as a combined Ubisoft-Epic Games Store exclusive.
