Treyarch's latest update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 brought with it a free Arsenal Sandstorm map and Infected for all the platforms, debut of a new PlayStation 4-exclusive mode called Deathmatch Domination and some weapon tuning tweaks.
Starting with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's new map, which Treyarch claim that Arsenal Sandstorm is the studio's "most intricate map makeover yet".
It's still Arsenal mind you, only this time players will have to fight a treacherous environment. With waves of wind and sand sweeping throughout the map, visibility will be quite limited, as you can see for yourself.
Treyarch are excited to see how the change affects gameplay in general, seeing as how limited visibility encourages close quarters engagements.
Infected's PS4 exclusivity period is over so PC and Xbox One players can now dip their toes into Infected, the mode that has Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players fighting to be the last survivor against the growing threat. You can learn more about this longstanding CoD mode here.
Treyarch have apparently tweaked Infected's stability in the meantime, and there are some weapon tuning changes too.
Namely, Rampart 17's ADS-in speed has been increased, while the KN-57 has had its recoil reduced along with ADS-in speed increases, quickdraw included. This is both for Blackout and Zombies modes.
As for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's new mode, which is also part of Activision's PlayStation 4 timed exclusivity deal, Deathmatch Domination is for players that always wished their "team could play the objective in Domination even if they're just there for the streaks.
It's basically a variant of Domination, except in this case both objectives and kills are counted towards the score. Which as Treyarch claim, makes you a team player no matter how you play.
Last but not least is the Alcatraz change, as Treyarch increased the final collapse time from 60 to 120 seconds.
