Watch Dogs: Legion, Ubisoft's excursion into an Orwellian alternate timeline of London, has received six minutes of gameplay footage from an in-game level called Whistleblower.
This was no leak, mind you - there were no actual whistleblowers here. Ubisoft gave the select few a peek at the game and green-lighted posting them on YouTube.
As you'll soon see, the mission follows Watch Dogs: Legion's temporary protagonist as he performs a basic fetch quest and walks around London. Along the way, you'll learn some details on who's who in Ubisoft's London of nightmares.
Judging by the amount of action, it looks like it's one of the initial missions from Watch Dogs: Legion, i.e. it's more about setting the stage of how you got tangled up with the powers that be. Nevertheless, there's some action towards the end and it does give off some cool Liam-Neeson-meets-Collateral vibes.
You probably know that Watch Dogs: Legion has stepped away from the traditional protagonist role, instead offering every virtual Tom and Harry to create their own redemption arc. Granted, the path to there will probably need far more redemption, but that's beside the point.
Some of these, ahem, freedom fights can be found towards the end of the Watch Dogs: Legion mission, but we won't be spoiling that treat. You can also check out some of the in-game operatives at around 3:40, each of whom comes with own set of advantages and disadvantages.
Watch Dogs: Legion is scheduled for launch on October 29, 2020, initially on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. Ubisoft confirmed they're planning on releasing it on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but that's a bit further down the line.
