According to reliable insider Tom Henderson, Ubisoft's plan is to release a wide variety of Assassin's Creed games over the next five years.

Ubisoft plan to release a new Assassin's Creed game every six months for the next five years, said reliable industry insider and Insider Gaming CEO Tom Henderson in the latest episode of the Xbox Two + One podcast with Jez Corden and Rand al Thor.

Henderson stated that the company plans to release a wide variety of games from different genres so not all of these will be big RPGs, which Ubisoft themselves kinda confirmed in their Assassin's Creed roadmap, asserting that they're working on both smaller experiences but also big AAA action RPGs.

One of these upcoming games will be Codename Invictus, a Fall Guys-like multiplayer title, which is certainly unlike anything we've seen so far from the popular action-adventure franchise.

Additionally, there's the rumoured Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake, and confirmed games like Assassion's Creed Shadows and Hexe, a darker and more linear experience than your usual Assassin's Creed games.

Oh, and there's the mobile game codenamed Jade, which is also expected to launch sometime soon for iOS and Android devices.

So with all those Assassin's Creed titles, the roadmap would look something like this:

  • Assassin's Creed Shadows (2025)
  • Assassin's Creed Invictus (TBA)
  • Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake (TBA)
  • Assassin's Creed Jade (2025)
  • Assassin's Creed Hexe (TBC)

Furthermore, Henderson elaborated that Ubisoft are simply trying to capitalise on the popularity of their biggest franchise which has seen record-breaking sales with Assassin's Creed Valhalla while the most recent one Assassin's Creed Mirage has also been a major success for the publisher.

Ubisoft seem to be taking a similar approach to how Activision release a major Call of Duty game every year while also having a free to play experience in Call of Duty Warzone.

Whether it pays off, it remains to be seen but one thing is for certain, we're getting a lot of new Assassin's Creed games in the coming years.
