Assassin's Creed fans, rejoice. One of the most beloved Assassin's Creed titles, the pirate-themed Assassin's Creed black Flag is getting a full fledged remake, in-house at Ubisoft, according to Kotaku.
The game is reportedly in the earliest stages of development which means it won't be coming anytime soon so arm yourself with patience. Ubisoft Singapore, who are trying to finally push Skull and Bones through the door, are heavily involved with the development to try and modernise the game's mechanics.
Sadly, that's about everything we know so far about this unannounced project. We can only guess that the game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with much better visuals, quality of life improvements and potentially some extra content.
Other than that, it's hard to predict how the development pans out and whether the Ubisoft Singapore will try to stay true to the game's roots or perhaps introduce some new mechanics to make it more appealing to modern audience. Hopefully they don't go too hard on the RPG mechanics.
Obviously, the news about this remake will not come as a surprise to anyone who has been following Ubisoft's recent strategy for the Assassin's Creed franchise. The publisher are going back to the series roots with Assassin's Creed Mirage, which is a clear proof that they have started to listen to the fan feedback.
Hopefully, we hear more about Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake in the near future, regardless whether it's only an offical blog post, confirming the existence of the game or more. Until then, take this news with a dose of skepticism since it doesn't come from official Ubisoft channels.
