Epic Games have revealed the next two free games that will arrive to their store on 05 September 2019. Players will be able to download Abzu and The End is Nigh for free until 12 September 2019 when another two games will arrive for free.
Epic Games started a blizzard of controversy with their ambitious and aggressive exclusives policy which saw several games ditch Steam and join Epic Games Store. However, Epic's store also has its perks and one of the most appealing ones is free games. Every week, Epic offers two completely free games and previously, we got some great titles like Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, For Honor, This War of Mine and more.
This week offers another two strong games - Celeste and Inside - both are available for free download until 05 September 2019, when the next two games will replace the indies. These next two games are beautiful underwater adventure Abzu and a sprawling adventure platformer The End is Nigh.
Abzu and The End is Nigh will be available for free starting on 05 September 2019 and the offer will run until 12 September 2019 when another two titles will arrive for free. Until then, you can enjoy Celeste and Inside or other games from previous weeks.
If you're unfamiliar with Abzu and The End is Nigh, both of these games have received positive reviews from both players and gaming critics. Abzu was even nominated for Bafta 2017 awards in Artistic Achievement category.
Several members of the development team, including director Matt Nava and composer Austin Wintory, previously worked on Journey and according to them the ocean setting of Abzu was both a reaction to the desert setting of Journey and inspired by Nava's love of scuba diving.
As for The End is Nigh, it's a unique looking platformer, developed by two guys - The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy creator Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel. Apparently, it's a game where you die a lot and it offers more than 600 levels, 12 explorable chapters and more.
