The Witcher 3 is soon getting an official Mod Editor tool. The tool is being developed by CD Projekt Red and will be completely free of charge. Basically, it will allow players to create new and edit existing content in the game.
Want to create new quest lines with Bloody Baron? Romance a specific NPC or play as Ciri or any other character in the game instead of Geralt? This tool will allow you to do that.
Mod Editor will be exclusive to the PC platform so don't expect it on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. There is no specific release date just yet but CD Projekt Red said to expect the tool sometime in 2024.
CD Projekt Red released similar but very basic tool for Cyberpunk 2077 too, called Red Mod. It doesn't let you create new quests, however, so it's not quite what The Witcher 3 fans are getting next year.
It's always possible that the full fledged tool arrives to Cyberpunk too, but CD Projekt Red did not announce such plans yet.
WIth this update, The Witcher 3 will thrive for many, many more years as players will undoubtly create so many unique experiences with the Mod Editor.
Hopefully, CD Projekt Red will soon provide more details about this powerful tool, including a demonstartion of all features that will be available to players.
