SkyBox Labs announced that Stela, a cinematic platformer, will be released on 13 March 2020 for Nintendo Switch and PC. Xbox One and Apple Arcade will get the definitive version of the game as well as the final update aligned with the release.
Stela was released on 11 October 2019 for Xbox One and Apple Arcade but it is a little less than a month away from release on PC and Nintendo Switch. Coming on Friday, 13 March 2020, this version of Stela will include all the post-launch content that became available on the initial platforms.
Furthermore, one final update will happen for Xbox One version on the same day that Stela gets released on PC and Switch. Those who already own the game can look forward to an expanded ending, visual improvements that will emphasise story elements along with many bug fixes and quality of life changes.
Steam and Switch versions will get the 15 secret areas and unlockable 3D dioramas from the get-go which will shine more light on the prophecy about the world of Stela and the apocalyptic narrative.
For those not familiar with the game, it is a platformer with chunky puzzles that is accompanied by a beautiful art style. The maps range from snowdrifts, over abandoned farms to massive catacombs and more.
The story premise is that Stela, a young woman, is moving through a mysterious world that is in its last days. The apocalypse is nearing as she goes through wondrous and terrifying parts of the dying realm.
Stela will be priced at $19.99 for both Nintendo Switch and Steam which is the same price as the other platforms.
