Bungie are just weeks away from launching the next season of Destiny 2 and it looks like we are getting another glimpse into the further future of the game through a dev event.
State of Destiny is where we get a ton of new information regarding Destiny 2 and the community is already expecting this one to talk about fixing some of the major issues plaguing the game. If you're a D2 player, there is one problem that is guaranteed to be on your mind - sunsetting.
Fans are already hoping this will be the focus of State of Destiny but the thing is that it will not be happening just yet. Joe Blackburn announced that the event will happen at some point during Season 13, which will most likely be called Season of the Chosen.
It is supposed to start on February 9, 2021, so keep in mind that the State of Destiny can happen at any time after that date. That said, the devs will not just fire up the stream willy nilly and it's pretty much guaranteed that we will get actual notifications, it is a big deal after all.
Blackburn claims that Destiny's best days are ahead in the same tweet where he announced the event. Then again, this isn't the first time Bungie promised something like this and another cycle of a good period in Destiny / Destiny 2 followed by periods of rampant issues is something that the players are already talking about.
Whatever it happens to be that the devs are excited about, let's just hope it has something to do with sunsetting the sunsetting.
