Splitgate 2 has received its first major update since launch and it’s a big one. With it, the developer 1047 Games is adding many of the most-requested features by the game’s community.
The portal-based shooter has now reached nearly 5 million downloads after launch and it looks like the developer won’t be slowing down. With Splitgate 2's first patch, players can expect a deeper competitive mode, exclusive cosmetic rewards, and more finely tuned gameplay.
The headline update is the addition of a new Ranked Arena mode for Splitball, Firecracker, and Hotzone. Players will need 100,000 XP to unlock it and earn exclusive weapon charms and badges by season rank.
It’s a challenging, win-or-lose competitive mode that rewards both performance and progression. Next, there’s a new Weapon Mastery Challenge system. Players will be able to unlock this once all the attachments for a weapon are unlocked.
Completing the mastery challenges will unlock exclusive Carbon, Gold, and Proelium skins for them. Each weapon will have its own mastery challenges that should be completed, including double kills with rifles or crouch/sliding kills with pistols. 1047 Games confirmed they have more mastery challenges and weapon tiers planned for later updates.
Finally, Chapter 2 of the Season 1 Battle Pass is now live. The mini pass contains 3 character skins, 11 weapon skins, and a portal skin along with various emotes, banners, and up to 560 coins.
Premium will set you back 500 Splitcoin which is around $4.99. A new Simulation Anomaly map has also been added that players can use in Takedown mode. You can check out the full changelog over on the Splitgate website.
With this update, Splitgate 2 is already looking to polish the shotgun-fueled havoc and give Aces even more reason to login and Ace. 1047 has a clear roadmap for the early months and it’s shaping up to be a great year for the game.
