Serious Sam is finally getting some maps that are not plain open fields it seems and they are coming with the Siberina Mayhem expansion in early 2022.
Serious Sam : Siberian Mayhem is releasing on January 25, 2022, and there are a few highlights for the expansion. First of all, it's standalone, so you don't need to own any previous Serious Sam releases in order to play it.
The default price is $19.99 / €19.99 / £16.79 but the game is on a 10 per cent discount until release, bringing the total down to $17.99 / €17.99 / £15.11.
Just like the name suggests, Sam will be adventuring in the Russian frozen forests this time around and he will visit the Arctic coastline, tundra, abandoned villages and a ghost town across five new missions.
The Horde will see some reinforcements as new enemies will be joining the fray, described as "the most advanced and intimidating creatures the hallowed FPS series has ever seen".
Sam, on the other hand, will get reinforcements of his own - new weapons, like the experimental crossbow or even towering mechs. Additionally, he will traverse the lands on a snowmobile, on top of other additions to the protagonist's gadgets, arsenal and means of transportation.
Siberian Mayhem didn't originally start off as a full game. Instead, it was a mod for the main game, developed by fans that formed Timelock Studio. Eventually, it evolved into a standalone expansion while Croteam provided guidance and oversaw the development.
