Sea of Thieves 2022 preview event coming this week

2022 will be the biggest year yet for Rare's live-service swashbuckling adventure Sea of Thieves.

Rare will be hosting a major preview event for what's to come in Sea of Thieves in 2022. The developer confirmed the date for Thursday, January 27, 2022.

Since Sea of Thieves has been one of the most successful Xbox IPs over the years, Rare will be brining the heat in 2022, a year which they describe as the biggest yet for the game.

The event will include "a boatload of new exciting surprises" and a detailed look at the 2022 roadmap as well as first look at the upcoming season and more. 

It's safe to say that if you're a Sea of Thieves player, you wouldn't want to miss this one. 

The 2022 preview event will be live streamed on YouTube and Twitter.

Now for the fun part - the speculation. Our guess for the 2022 content would be a ton of big crossover events similar to A Pirate's Life, which introduced the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean films.

You may recall that One Piece was one of the franchises that players desperately wanted in Sea of Thieves so it will be interesting to see if Rare have something to announce on Thursday regarding that.
