Warner Bros. Games is reportedly set to adapt Robert Pattinson's Batman into a videogame. While this isn't a sequel to Rocksteady's Arkham series, there's growing anticipation for a game set within Matt Reeves' The Batman universe.
Batman games have come and gone through many changes over the years, but perhaps the most hailed series of games were those from Rocksteady with the Arkham trilogy of games between 2009-2015.
The most recent, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, didn't exactly live up to expectations, but there are plenty who are begging for a return by the Caped Crusader, and perhaps it's Pattinson's Batman who dons the cape and cowl in that next title.
A new game set within the universe of The Batman is reportedly in development. Possibly the return to the era where movies have tie-in games, allowing players to practically experience a world of Gotham with Pattinson's Batman.
Recent internal collaborations within Warner Bros. Discovery hint that several divisions, including the creative team of the new Penguin HBO series, have closely worked on projects related to the 2022 movie The Batman. Though specifics remain secret, this concept of a video game focused on Pattinson's Batman sends fans into overdrive.
Over the past years, several years have been craving a new Batman game, even more so with Gotham Knights receiving mixed reception and the disappointment from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Provided these rumors prove true, fans might finally see this Batman game they've been in wait to witness as it brings Pattinson's iteration of the Dark Knight to console systems.
This possible game opens up a new avenue into the dark and grungy world of The Batman, expanding on the dark, atmospheric universe Reeves has created.
And with Warner Bros. reportedly considering its arm that creates games as one of its many money-making tools, the possibility of a Pattinson-led Batman game is closer now than it ever was.
