Neowiz and Round8 Studio are considering a major shake-up for the sequel to Lies of P, potentially making it an open-world game. The original Lies of P was a surprise hit, selling 1 million copies in its first month and being rated as one of the FromSoftware cult games.

It sounds like Neowiz and Round8 Studio are considering a pretty major shake-up for the sequel to Lies of P. That is, instead of looping in the comparison to Elden Ring, the follow-up to last year's hit could really be an open-world game.

The original Lies of P took the world by surprise, selling 1 million copies in its first month. Meanwhile, people from all over the world's longitudes and latitudes have rated it as one of the FromSoftware cult games - a pretty striking achievement for the newbie developer Neowiz. Fortunately for the fans, this may not be the last waltz in the unhealthy world of Pinocchio.

And now, it appears that Neowiz is making DLC for Lies of P under the name Characters of fairy tale stories, in which characters from other fairy tales frequent the dark Soulslike world.

And, the game director Choi Ji-won hinted at a sequel and confirmed its development. That said, details around the game are quite scarce, but the most recent leaks of information talk about a possible shift from a level-based structure to an open-world one.

A recent job post on Neowiz's official website gives a clue to such transition. The firm is now in search of a ground-level designer for the Lies of P sequel and looking for people who have "extensive experience playing open-world level games" specifically, and those who create seamless worlds.

All of that heavily implies that the series could gain open-world aspects, but it's not clear whether the game will be open-world altogether or only open-world or first-person partially alone.

The first was more the linear game, but players could go back to previous environments of their own volition. Such a listing would imply that the sequel is very far along in development, but outside of its existence, details of story and gameplay mechanics remain to be announced.

Indeed, as of now, there is no information on how far in development the game is, and when its release day will come for any of the DLC or the sequel.
