This week's Call of Duty NEXT event brought a number of exciting updates on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, with Treyarch and Raven Software detailing several tidbits of new information.
These included a brand-new trailer for Liberty Falls, the game's second Zombies map, and some details on the game's upcoming multiplayer beta. The more interesting reveals, however, was the announcing of Body Shield in the multiplayer of the game.
First shown in the multiplayer reveal trailer, the Body Shield function lets players take an enemy hostage and use their now-captured opponent as a human shield.
What would make this feature even more unique is that it activates the voice chat system between the captor and captive, allowing players to have real-time dialogue. From trash talk to friendly chat about irrelevant topics, the possibilities for interaction are wide open.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hits on October 25th, for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Early access to the multiplayer beta is open now for those who have preordered the game or subscribe to Game Pass through September 4. The open beta will run September 6-9.
It adds a new layer of strategy and player interaction that innovatively mixes up the multiplayer experience, guaranteeing freshness in matches.
