LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight‘s launch trailer drops today and taps into the titular superhero’s expansive filmography. The game’s latest trailer includes easter eggs and humorous references to multiple adaptations of the Batman legend. From the jump, players are treated to Seal’s iconic track from 1995’s Batman Forever.
But it doesn’t stop there. Viewers can catch references to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, as well as other live-action movies in the Batman catalog.
Publisher TT Games has already detailed that players can find over 100 different suits to collect in Legacy of the Dark Knight, some of which alter the appearance of key characters.
The new trailer cements that players can expect a wide variety of comics, film, and animated adaptations to serve as inspiration for this LEGO adventure.Players are also treated to more examples of split-screen coop as Batman and Robin take on missions side-by-side.
Fans of the Caped Crusader’s history on the silver screen will recognize scenes recreating the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne in Crime Alley. There are also sequences inspired by Batman & Robin and its villainous rendition of Poison Ivy.
TT Games has mentioned in the past that Legacy of the Dark Knightwould pull inspiration from previous Batman titles as well as other versions of the character.
Inspired by Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight‘s Head of Development Jonathan Smith stated the team wanted to use the character’s history to help diversify gameplay and attract fans of all ages.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight releases for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC later this month. Owners of the Deluxe Edition will be able to play two weeks early.
