Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, launches officially on August 30th. However, the early access was already available for players with the Gold and Ultimate Editions.
The recent patch (1.000.002) that aimed at enriching gameplay resulted in some severe problems for PS5 players. The patch introduced a bug that limits players from further advancing in the game if they keep on using older save files.
Particularly, the problem locks players in space after attaining a certain level in the game. Ubisoft has recognized the issue through an email forwarded to the players regarding the fact that those who have updated to the latest patch need to create a new save file to avoid such progression blockers.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft doesn't currently have a fix for those who just want to continue with their older saves. This has understandably frustrated players who paid extra money via the Gold and Ultimate Edition early access, as the only thing they can currently do is start over.
On the plus side, the patch does add a new 40 FPS mode that strikes a balance between the two Performance and Quality modes out there, offering players a smoother option.
Even while the setback is real, Star Wars Outlaws remains playable for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The development team requests that you make new saves after running this patch to avoid specific progression issues.
