THQ Nordic has confirmed that Reanimal, the upcoming co-op horror game from Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios, has officially gone gold. The announcement confirms the game will launch as scheduled on February 13, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
What does "going gold" mean?
In the games industry, "going gold" refers to a game completing development and being sent to manufacturing for physical copies. The term originated from the gold master disc that contained the final approved version for mass production. While digital distribution has reduced the significance of this milestone, going gold still marks the completion of core development. This does not mean that the development stops, as the studios usually continue working on day-one patches and post-launch updates.
About Reanimal
Reanimal follows a brother and sister duo navigating a twisted world to rescue their missing friends and escape a nightmarish island. The game combines stealth mechanics, environmental puzzles, and cinematic platforming in what Tarsier describes as a chilling co-op horror experience.
A demo is currently available across all platforms, allowing players to experience the game's opening sequences. The demo introduces the orphaned siblings and their desperate search for missing friends, giving a taste of Reanimal's atmospheric horror gameplay.
