Operation Blood Orchid will have two Operators from Hong Kong and one from Poland. Today, we'll get to know the first two. More information will be divulged on 26 August.
Rainbow Six Siege's year two is underway and the next DLC to arrive for the game will be Operation Blood Orchid. The DLC will bring an abandoned theme park inspired map and three new Operators. As we've already covered , it's now time to get to know the Operators.
Ladies first. Siu Mei Lin, code named Ying (Firefly) is our first new Operator. Now, we get to know her background. Farah Daoud-Brixi discusses what inspired Ying’s character. "The S.D.U. is known for leading high-risk operations amidst Hong Kong’s dense urban population. For this purpose we opted for a character with an awareness of their surroundings and a concern for civilian lives," said Daoud-Brixi. "This is why we envisioned her as being heavily trained in close protection, which also influenced her playstyle."

The return to Asia is no coincidence, Daoud-Brixi added. "We are using ties between CTUs to create interactions and build an interconnected team of specialists. Our Operator is part of this web, having met other members of Team Rainbow in the past."
Ying had her first taste of field work at an exclusive female-only training facility in Tel Aviv, Israel. she proved to be an excellent driver, and her first operation was the Operation High Sun. Soon after, she met and collaborated with former S.A.T. Operator Echo during a security operation named Black Jack. Get ready for the drama: It was reported that she became personally involved with Echo at the time, but their relationship ended a year later.
Our Firefly is equipped with the SIX12 and T-95 LSW as primary weapons, and the Q-929 as a secondary weapon.
The second operator is code named Lesion. Liu Tze Long's (Lesion) inspiration was described by Farah Daoud-Brixi: "Originally modeled on the British Special Air Service, the S.D.U. has since developed their own training and methods. It is this edge that we wanted to capture with Lesion, who strikes unexpectedly and gains intensity with time.""He was one of the three Operators who was able to withstand an extreme version of the S.A.S.’ Resistance to Interrogation Program," said Daoud-Brixi.

Lesion’s first operation was lead in Indonesia, Operation Green Viper. Liu teamed up with two S.A.S Operators, code named Smoke and Thatcher, to infiltrate the physicist’s laboratory and neutralize every trace of the substance meant to cause a bubonic plague outbreak. As this was Lesion’s first successful mission, the trio stayed an extra day in Macau and filed the event as an off-duty bonus. Those rascals.
As a member of Hong Kong's special forces, Lesion will be wielding the T-5 SMG and SIX12 SD as primary weapons, and the Q-929 as a secondary weapon. More details about the Operators and the DLC will be revealed on 26 August, and you can catch it over on .
