According to the latest rumour from the Rainbow Six Siege subreddit, Ubisoft are working on a sequel for their popular tactical online shooter.
The info comes from a leaker who reportedly accurately revealed details about Rainbow Six Siege skins and other smaller content so we suggest you take everything with a grain of salt.
According to the leaker:
- The game's development is nearing completion after four years of development.
- Rainbow Six Siege 2 is apparently being built on the Snowdrop engine, which Ubisoft used for The Division, xDefiant and the recent Avatar game.
- The code has been built from the ground up with a new ant-cheat system.
- The game is planned to be announced at the Six Invitational in 2025 in Boston.
- 90 per cent of the Siege team is focusing on Siege 2.
Again, it's really important that you take the info with a grain of salt since it does not come from reliable industry sources.
While it's certainly possible that a new Rainbow Six Siege game is coming soon, you should not get your hopes up just yet, at least not until we get info from Ubisoft themselves.
If Rainbow Six Siege 2 is indeed coming soon, it will be very interesting to see what direction will Ubisoft take for the sequel in terms of gameplay, realism and monetisation.
