Rainbow Six: Siege just made a post on their official X account that their Test Server is live now for Y9S2 Operation New Blood. This new season introduces various changes, including changes to maps, the addition of map filters, and more.
However, Ubisoft has also mentioned that there can be a delay of up to 48 hours, so don't worry if you find the test server to be busy or down.
All the Changes and Updates to Maps in Rainbow Six Siege Y9S2
The New Standard Map Playlist Filter
The Standard Map Filters offer players control over map selection in Standard matches. They include:
- Ranked Map Pool: This option features all maps currently in the Ranked Map Pool.
- Non-Ranked Map Pool: Includes all maps currently NOT in the Ranked Map Pool.
- All Maps: Encompasses all maps in both the Ranked and Non-Ranked Map Pool.
Once a filter is chosen, players will exclusively queue for matches on the selected maps whenever they start a queue for a Standard Match. These settings can be found in the Settings Menu for Standard.
The New Attrition Arcade
The new Attrition Arcade makes a return to Siege with adjustments for a limited-time event. In this bomb mode, once an operator is selected, it remains locked for both teams throughout the match. Players must adapt and strategize with unconventional team compositions to secure victory.
At the start of the match, 5 Defender and 5 Attacker Operators are randomly removed from the pool, providing both sides with a random handicap.
Attrition will be available from June 18th to July 2nd.
Updates to Stadium Alpha and Stadium Bravo
Stadium Alpha and Stadium Bravo have undergone quality-of-life updates aimed at enhancing competitiveness. Bulletproof glass has been removed from both maps, and changes to layouts and destructibility aim to improve player comfort, navigation, and provide a tougher challenge for Attackers.
Both Stadium maps will now feature in all playlists: Standard (with the new filter system), Quick Match (with corresponding presets), as well as Arcade and Custom Game.
New Map Training Playlist
The Map Training Playlist introduces a new mode called Endless Drill to aid in warming up and honing skills before matchmaking. Players can engage in 60-minute sessions to train their aim while navigating maps and receiving feedback on damage taken during the run.
Additionally, new settings have been incorporated into the map training playlist. Maps can now be configured with pre-destroyed soft walls, a headshot-only mode, and the option for a simplified objective HUD.
A guidance tool has been added to help players better understand essential map sections by allowing them to set markers for stairs, drone vents, and hatches to enhance map familiarity and tactical planning.
Endless Drill now features four new maps: Outback, Villa, Kanal, and Theme Park.
