After the release of Operation Deadly Omen back in March, Rainbow Six: Siege just started their Y9S2 with Operation New Blood. This season introduces a Recruit remaster, introducing two new Operators: Striker for attack and Sentry for defence.
While the Recruit lacks unique gadgets, they can carry two different secondary gadgets, opening up the potential for varied and dynamic gameplay combinations.
Additionally, Ubisoft made updates for Versus AI, adjustments to map filters, Stadium improvements, and more.
Striker and Sentry in Y9S2
Striker and Sentry now step into the Recruit role on attack and defence, respectively, offering more versatility than their predecessors.
Both are now eligible for selection in Ranked Play and can be customized with various cosmetics, some of which will be accessible through the Operation New Blood Battle Pass.
Unlike other Operators, Striker and Sentry lack unique gadgets. Instead, they have the option to equip two secondary gadgets of their choice for each mission.
What will Striker be like?
Striker can now fulfill the Attacker's dream of solo opening an electrified wall by using Impact EMP grenades and a hard breach charge. They can also create their own route to the objective with a breach charge and then secure their flank with a claymore.
While other Attackers can select one secondary gadget, Striker can choose two different ones, as long as they aren't the same item.
Some Striker loadout combos:
- Claymore and breach charges for flanking and creating entry points
- Impact EMP grenades and hard breaching charges for solo wall breaching
- Stun grenades and smoke grenades for area denial and disorientation
What will Sentry be like?
On defence, Sentry can achieve similar objectives but with a different set of gadgets at their disposal. They may prioritize remaining undetected by Attacker drones by opting for an observation blocker and strategically placing a bulletproof camera nearby to discourage surveillance.
Alternatively, they can set up hazardous scenarios by strategically deploying proximity alarms and lurking nearby with a nitro cell to catch unsuspecting Attackers off guard.
Some Sentry loadout combos:
- Impact grenades and deployable shields for fortified defensive positions
- Observation blocker and bulletproof camera for enhanced information denial
- Proximity alarm and nitro cell for ambushing and area denial
Rainbow Six Siege Y9S2 Operation New Blood is currently available for testing on their test servers. So if you have an account there, go and try Striker and Sentry out now.
