A feature that should have been part of Pokemon GO since launch is finally coming this summer. PvP, Legendary Pokemon and greater emphasis on teams are all confirmed features in near future updates.
Pokemon GO should be getting PvP, Legendary Pokemon and more features related to the game's three available teams sometime before the summer is out.
According to Go Nintendo , a lot of these features have been delayed because Pokemon GO became too popular for its own good and is simply making too much money.
"Due to the large success of the game, we had to delay some planned innovations. Right now we are working on some that are due to hit this summer (in the northern hemisphere), such as giving more value to the choice of the teams, releasing Legendary Pokémon and introducing PvP", said Niantic's Mathieu de Fayet.
We found that Pokemon GO was just fine, but there was simply too little game going on to make it interesting over an extended time, in our check-up with the game back in February.
Accurate player counts for Pokemon GO are hard to come by, and everyone and their dog still keeps going on about those amazing download figures, despite Telxvi not seeing nearly as many people playing as there were during the launch hype.
Niantic is hoping that more player interaction will secure an even more profitable future for the game.
"One thing we learned with Ingress was that the game can sustain itself if we are able to create social interactions amongst players, and we are working on that."
It's still Pokemon thou, and will be making more money than Nintendo, The Pokemon Company, Niantic and everyone else involved in the project know what to do with.
AltChar will be checking back with the game as soon as the update actually launches.
