The big PUBG update with a bunch of new content has today hit consoles and Google Stadia. Update 8.1 adds graphically revamped Sanhok, Loot Truck, new Survivor Pass and more.
Ten days since the official launch on PC, PUBG has today introduced its eight season to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia players. The update 8.1 is now live on all three platforms, bringing a ton of new content including the graphically revamped map Sanhok.
The popular tropical map has been reworked from the ground up to look and perform better and offer more balanced gameplay. The devs say they wanted to change the map so it feels more like a forgotten, overgrown paradise while also adressing some of the map's biggest balancing issues at the same time.
Bootcamp has been completely reworked while the stone blocks in Quarry are now larger to provide better cover from opponents with the high ground. Also, the devs replaced the farm area in the Northeast with a new Airfield. A new location named Getaway replaced Docks while ruins are now much taller and provide better cover.
There's a lot more changes on the map including new bridges for easier traversal over the river. On top of this, a brand new feature named Loot Truck also arrives. As the name suggests it is a big truck that drops valuable loot as players attack it. You can check out the official patch notes here for more details.
