Haven Studios have now officially a member of the PlayStation Studios family. Here is everything we know about their debut multiplayer AAA project.
Haven are now officially under the PlayStation Studios umbrella and will be working on PlayStation 5 console-exclusive games.
Haven even revealed before the actual acquisition that they are working with Sony on a PlayStation-exclusive game that would also launch on PC.
So far, the details about the game are pretty scarce but we know that Haven will be part of Sony's big initiative to push GaaS in the coming years .
Haven Studios, what are they working on?
Haven Studios' have confirmed that their debut game will be an AAA multiplayer title. This project is still in early pre-production meaning it's years away from the actual release, so don't expect it anytime soon.
So why have Sony acquired Haven if their game is years away? Well, as we've already mentioned, the decision is part of Sony's big push towards multiplayer, live-service titles, a genre where they've been pretty weak when compared to their main competitor Xbox, who have the likes of Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 and more live-service games in their portfolio.
It may take a while before we get to play these games but once PlayStation start rolling them out, it's safe to say that the publisher could become another live-service games powerhouse.
